What licensing is
In licensing, the owner of a trademark (the licensor) grants another company (the licensee) the right to use it on its products, in exchange for a fee: royalties.
The licensee benefits from the brand's reputation. The licensor needs to verify how many products actually reach the market. A custom, numbered hologram on every product makes that check simple.
